Angelote Turquoise – Organic Titanium Pendant Necklace
Before there were shells to collect or currents to name, this fin cut through the shallow water around Tenerife — home to the Angelote, one of the most endangered sharks alive, hidden for centuries in the sand of quiet bays. The titanium is textured by hand with an old axe, not a chisel — a tool built for splitting wood, turned instead to carving the sea — then hand-anodised into a pale gradient of green and turquoise, the colour of the sandy shallows where it lies hidden, waiting.
- ✓ Hypoallergenic pendant — Grade 1 pure titanium, the kind used in medical implants
- ✓ Feather-light — about 45% lighter than steel, wear it all day and forget it’s there
- ✓ Built for island life — sea-water and corrosion proof
- ✓ Pendant hand-textured with an axe and made in Tenerife in small batches
- ✓ This turquoise finish needs a second, more delicate anodising pass to reach its colour — reflected in the price

The story behind Angelote
The Angelote, or angel shark, once lived across the eastern Atlantic and the Mediterranean. Today it is critically endangered and has all but disappeared — except in a handful of refuges, and the Canary Islands are one of the last. Its largest known nursery in Europe is on Tenerife, at Las Teresitas beach. Flat-bodied and sand-coloured, it lies buried on the seabed by day, all but invisible until it moves. This piece is named for that quiet, nearly-vanished presence: a shape you might miss entirely, until the light catches it.

The Story Behind the Piece
The Story Behind the Piece
Each piece begins in our Tenerife studio overlooking the Atlantic. Through anodisation, light itself becomes color — creating blues, violets and subtle gradients directly on the titanium surface. Every texture is finished by hand, making each piece slightly unique.
The Titanium Advantage
The Titanium Advantage
Titanium is exceptionally light, hypoallergenic and highly resistant to corrosion. It is comfortable for sensitive skin and will not tarnish or react to sea water. A material trusted in aerospace and medical applications, chosen here for everyday wear.
Care & Maintenance
Care & Maintenance
Titanium requires very little care. To keep your piece looking its best, simply wash it occasionally with mild soap and warm water. Avoid abrasive cleaners and harsh chemicals. With normal wear, your jewellery is designed to last for many years.

Marcelina Nicz
Behind INKRU stands Marcelina Nicz — artist, interior architecture graduate of the Silesian University of Technology, and resident of Tenerife. Her work is shaped between the raw character of metal and the fleeting nature of light.
Her greatest inspiration comes from the ocean, its living forms, and the volcanic landscapes of the Canary Islands. INKRU pieces reflect organic shapes found in nature, the intense island light, and subtle references to the culture and architecture of the islands. She is particularly inspired by the work of César Manrique and his way of uniting art, nature, and architecture into one harmonious whole.
Beyond jewellery design, she is passionate about painting, analogue photography, glass, and 1970s design. Together with her husband, she creates the world of INKRU from their studio in Tenerife, accompanied — and occasionally distracted — by Kusy, the cat quietly observing the creative process.
