Sonda Mark 2 Blue — Minimalist Titanium Bar Earrings
A few kilometres off Tenerife's coast, the sea floor just drops — no shelf, no gradual slope, almost four kilometres of water within sight of land. It's part of why cachalots stay here year-round. Sailors used to measure that kind of depth with a weighted line, let out by hand until it stopped moving. These earrings are named after that line: brushed titanium, pale blue at the top fading to a much darker blue near the tip, the same way the sea changes color as it deepens.

The Story Behind Sonda
Between Tenerife and La Gomera, the ocean reaches nearly 3,000 meters deep — closer to shore than almost anywhere else on Earth. This piece takes its name from the sounding line, the old tool sailors used to measure exactly that kind of depth.

The Story Behind the Piece
The Story Behind the Piece
Each piece begins in our Tenerife studio overlooking the Atlantic. Through anodisation, light itself becomes color — creating blues, violets and subtle gradients directly on the titanium surface. Every texture is finished by hand, making each piece slightly unique.
The Titanium Advantage
The Titanium Advantage
Titanium is exceptionally light, hypoallergenic and highly resistant to corrosion. It contains no nickel, is comfortable for sensitive skin, and will not tarnish or react to sea water. A material trusted in aerospace and medical applications, chosen here for everyday wear.
Care & Maintenance
Care & Maintenance
Titanium requires very little care. To keep your piece looking its best, simply wash it occasionally with mild soap and warm water. Avoid abrasive cleaners and harsh chemicals. With normal wear, your jewellery is designed to last for many years.
Marcelina Nicz
Behind INKRU stands Marcelina Nicz — artist, interior architecture graduate of the Silesian University of Technology, and resident of Tenerife. Her work is shaped between the raw character of metal and the fleeting nature of light.
Her greatest inspiration comes from the ocean, its living forms, and the volcanic landscapes of the Canary Islands. INKRU pieces reflect organic shapes found in nature, the intense island light, and subtle references to the culture and architecture of the islands. She is particularly inspired by the work of César Manrique and his way of uniting art, nature, and architecture into one harmonious whole.
Beyond jewellery design, she is passionate about painting, analogue photography, glass, and 1970s design. Together with her husband, she creates the world of INKRU from their studio in Tenerife, accompanied — and occasionally distracted — by Kusy, the cat quietly observing the creative process. store.
