Where Tenerife's lava meets the tide, the rock itself seems to breathe — pitted, pocked, and armored in limpets gripping tight against the pull of the water. This necklace is that surface, cast in titanium: a dense, textured field, some points hammered so thin they're pierced clean through, gathered around a disc-like medallion ribbed like a limpet's shell. Anodized in a deep blue that shifts toward violet in the light, the pendant, cord, clasp, and charm all carry the same worked, uneven surface. A hanging element on the reverse lets it live beyond the cord too — pinned as a brooch, or worn alone as an un-chained pendant.

The Story Behind Roca de Lapas
Along Tenerife's rocky shoreline, limpets (lapas) hold fast to the volcanic rock in dense colonies, their conical shells ridged with fine lines that radiate out from a central point — a shape locals know well, since grilled lapas are one of the island's most loved traditional dishes. This piece takes both halves of that scene: the textured, wave-battered rock as the field, and the limpet's own radiating shell pattern as the medallions set into it.

Each piece begins in our Tenerife studio overlooking the Atlantic. Through anodisation, light itself becomes color — creating blues, violets and subtle gradients directly on the titanium surface. Every texture is finished by hand, making each piece slightly unique.

Marcelina Nicz
Behind INKRU stands Marcelina Nicz — artist, interior architecture graduate of the Silesian University of Technology, and resident of Tenerife. Her work is shaped between the raw character of metal and the fleeting nature of light.
Her greatest inspiration comes from the ocean, its living forms, and the volcanic landscapes of the Canary Islands. INKRU pieces reflect organic shapes found in nature, the intense island light, and subtle references to the culture and architecture of the islands. She is particularly inspired by the work of César Manrique and his way of uniting art, nature, and architecture into one harmonious whole.
Beyond jewellery design, she is passionate about painting, analogue photography, glass, and 1970s design. Together with her husband, she creates the world of INKRU from their studio in Tenerife, accompanied — and occasionally distracted — by Kusy, the cat quietly observing the creative process. store.
